FAQs

  • One way to start therapy is to schedule a brief phone consultation. During this call, you will have an opportunity to discuss what it is that brings you to my office, what you hope to get out of therapy, and any other questions that you may have. You will also have a chance to ask me any questions that you are curious about such as: what is therapy with you like? Is therapy for me and will it help me? What is your professional/personal background? If you decide to continue with me, we can set up our first in-person session. Sometimes, the decision to work together is made after several sessions, where you can get a better feel for whether treatment is right for you.

  • My focus is on helping people to know themselves more fully. In doing so, you will become more adept at getting what you want out of your life, whether that is in your professional endeavors, relationships, or any other important part of life.

This process can offer profound healing for issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, chronic pain, and relationship difficulties.

  • For individuals, we will generally meet for 50 minutes once each week. Sometimes, depending on individual needs, more than one session is warranted. We can discuss this in person if the necessity arises.

For couples, we will meet for 75 minutes once each week unless more time is needed.

Therapy is a commitment that individuals make to themselves, and it has been my experience that therapy is most productive when there is solid consistency.

  • The duration of therapy differs by individual. Depending on your goals, I can speak to what my expectations are at the outset of treatment.

  • I have a 72-hour cancellation policy.

I request that you give 72 hours notice if you need to reschedule a session. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the session fee.

  • I am an out-of-network provider, which means that I will not bill your insurance directly.

I can provide monthly statements for you to submit to your insurance company. Please verify with your insurance that they cover out-of-network mental health services.

  • I accept credit cards, HSA and FSA cards, as well as Paypal/Venmo.

I will provide you with a monthly invoice, which can also be used to bill your insurance.

  • Please call me to discuss fees, as my rates vary for different services. I do offer a limited number of sliding scale fee slots to individuals and couples that would not otherwise be able to afford therapy. Sliding scale fees are based on your household income.

If for any reason I am unable to provide what you need, I will help you to find a therapist that offers what you are seeking.
